Which company would you contract with?
Write down the full entity name, website and address in the account agreement. Compare them with the details on the regulator’s own register. A familiar trading name alone is insufficient.
What permission does it claim?
Check the stated regulator and licence independently, including the scope of permission. The relevant authority depends on the entity, product and jurisdiction; a US register is not a substitute for checking another country’s regulator.
What information is still missing?
Create a short list of unresolved questions about the product, charges, account agreement and withdrawal process. Ask for written answers and keep copies.
Where do you go next?
